· Pastor Kohl’s Adult Education class will continue tomorrow evening, November 17 at 7:00 p.m. We will be discussing the Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 21. Please join us.
· Blessed by God to be a blessing! God has indeed blessed us abundantly this year, and our hearts are challenged as we envision what God has in store for us in 2009. Today is Stewardship Sunday, when we will offer our estimate of giving cards in thankful anticipation of what the Lord will do for us in the coming year.
· A reminder to all choir members! Our choir retreat will be held on Saturday, November 22 from 9:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Lunch and coffee will be provided. Please plan to be there!
· The Clothing Ministry continues to accept gently used winter items, especially sweaters, sweatshirts, flannel shirts, pants, and jeans for men and women. Large and plus sizes are particularly needed. We also need donations of larger shopping bags (e.g., department store, Target, Linens ‘n Things, etc.). Please—NO summer clothing or formal wear. Thanks to all for your continued generosity!
· Attention, all those attending Sister Carol’s Esther Bible Study: Please continue to check the office bulletin board for the study’s schedule for the coming weeks. The study will not meet for the next two Thursdays, November 20 and 27.
· As we approach the seasons of Thanksgiving and Christmas, Pastor Kohl and Sister Carol are requesting that the people of Pilgrim prayerfully consider gifts of $10 grocery cards to be given to those in our community in need. Fifteen cards have been donated so far, but we have a long way to go! Please help if you can. Many thanks!
· Please note that there will be no Pilgrim Food Pantry on Thanksgiving Day, November 27. However, our friends at the House of Hospitality will be serving a sit-down Thanksgiving meal that day from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus on the corner of Warwick Avenue and Sandy Lane. All are welcome!
· Attention, Sunday School students and parents! Our Pilgrim kids will be participating in the Santa Lucia celebration on Saturday, December 13 at 7:00 p.m. Dress rehearsal for this event will be on Sunday, December 7 immediately following the 9:30 service. Please mark your calendar!
· Christmas is coming! If anyone in the congregation knows of a family who could benefit from a sponsorship for Christmas gifts this year, please contact Sister Carol as soon as possible at the church 739-2937. Generosity and compassion are signs are faith in action! Blessings to all—grace happens!
· Eucharistic Ministers are needed for the weeks ahead. Please sign up on the sheets posted on the office bulletin board if you are able to help. If you have questions about becoming a Eucharistic Minister, please see Pastor Kohl or Sister Carol.
· News from the Altar Guild…save the date! The annual Christmas Breakfast and General Meeting will be held on Sunday, December 14 directly following the 9:30 service. Details to follow!
