Elisabeth Remming Vergun - Parish Assistant

Our Parish Assistant was born in New Rochelle, New York on February 3, 1961, and was baptized at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Pleasantville, New York on December 31, 1961.  She grew up in the small town of Mahopac, New York, about 50 miles north of Manhattan.  After studying business at Berkeley College in White Plains, New York, she moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where she worked in the fields of insurance and executive placement for over ten years.  She and her family relocated to Rhode Island in 2004.  After being blessed to be home full-time with her children for 12 years, Elisabeth rejoined the workforce and was hired as part of Pilgrim’s ministry team in January of 2005.

Elisabeth loves reading, music, singing and theater.   She is also extremely interested in theology and church music, and has taken several classes at various religious schools in the Bay Area, including Pacific Lutheran Seminary in Berkeley, California.  Elisabeth has written several liturgical dramas and is active in music and worship planning at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Kingston, where she and her family have been members since 2004.  She can be seen several times a year in musical performances in the Newport and South County areas.

Elisabeth lives in North Kingstown with her patient and supportive husband, Paul, and her two beautiful children, Isabella and Matthew.  She is delighted and blessed to serve God and the people of Pilgrim Lutheran Church in the important ministry of Parish Assistant.
